How to Make Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes (10 Minutes!)
Who knew such crispy delights could be yours in just 10 minutes? Here’s how the magic happens, step by step.
- Prep the Sweet Potatoes:
Peele your Red Garnet sweet potatoes. Slice them into 1/2-inch rounds, then into uniform cubes. This symmetry ensures even cooking.

- Season with Love:
Transfer the cubes into a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle in the harissa spice blend, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat each cube—listen for the subtle sizzle as the oil works its magic.

- Preheat the Air Fryer:
Follow your air fryer manufacturer’s instructions to warm it up. The anticipation of crispiness makes this step a bit exciting.

- Arrange and Fry:
Arrange the seasoned cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to achieve perfect crispiness. Set to 400°F and air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

- Watch for Perfection:
Keep an eye out after the 8-minute mark. The cubes should be golden with a crispy layer, and the inviting aroma will fill your kitchen.

Now, plate these crispy gems. Whether as a snack or topping a salad, these sweet potato cubes will become a favorite. Enjoy every crunch!
Spicing Up Your Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes
Let’s dive into the fun of flavoring! A slight tweak can transform these sweet potatoes into something uniquely yours. Here are a few variations I’ve tried, each offering a new twist:
- Smoky Sensation: Swap the harissa for smoked paprika. It adds a smoky depth that pairs beautifully with the potato’s natural sweetness.
- Simple & Classic: If you’re in the mood for something straightforward, stick with salt and pepper. They enhance the sweet potato’s natural flavors without overwhelming them.
- Oil Options: Whether you choose olive oil or avocado oil, both provide a silky coating to help the spices stick. I prefer olive oil for its rich notes.
- Spray Away: Use an oil spray for a lighter approach. It evenly coats the sweet potatoes while minimizing excess oil and saves time!

Feel free to experiment with these variations. Each one adds its unique flair while staying true to the recipe. Let your taste buds lead the way!
Keeping the Magic Crisp
Once you’ve enjoyed these Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes, storing leftovers is simple. Let them cool completely before sealing them in an airtight container to keep moisture at bay. They’ll stay fresh in the fridge for up to three days—perfect for snacks throughout the week. While they don’t freeze well due to texture changes, you’ll likely finish them quickly!
When ready to enjoy again, reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for about 3-4 minutes, shaking once. This method revives their texture and flavor. Soon, you’ll be relishing each crispy bite as if they were freshly made!
