Apple Cider French Toast

Apple cider French toast is so easy to make and you only need a few simple ingredients. The perfect French toast breakfast for the holidays.

  • 1 loaf of white sliced bread
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup Heavy cream you can use milk if you do not have cream.
  • ¼ cup Apple cider
  • 3 tablespoon Dark brown sugar you can also use light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon butter for the pan
  • a pinch of kosher salt

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, add your eggs, cream, cinnamon, sugar and salt and mix well.
  2. Now, preheat a large heavy bottom skillet or griddle on medium heat.
  3. Once it is pre-heated, add your butter and let it fully melt.
  4. Now take a slice of bread and place into your custard mixture then take it out flip it over and submerge it again.
  5. Lift the bread out of the custard making sure to let the excess custard drip off and then place in your pan.
  6. Cook for 3 minutes then flip.
  7. Cook the other side for 3 minutes or until it is nice and golden in color.
  8. Continue the steps above until all of the French toast is cooked.
  9. Top with powdered sugar or maple syrup and enjoy.
